About the guide

About this River Cree and Enoch guide

This is an independent route guide to River Cree Resort & Casino on Enoch Cree Nation, just west of Edmonton. It is not a casino. It answers practical questions before the trip.

What this site is

enochcasinos.com is a guide, not a venue. It covers River Cree Resort & Casino, the roads and buses that lead there, and the Edmonton-area casinos around it.

It has no connection to River Cree or to Enoch Cree Nation. For anything official, such as bookings, show tickets or current hours, the venue's own site is rivercreeresort.com.

Who writes it

The pages are written under the pen name Owen Tremblay. A pen name is used on purpose. The guide's authority comes from the sources it cites, not from the writer.

No credentials are claimed and no visits are claimed. Every fact is meant to trace back to a published source, listed on where the facts come from.

Why it exists

Most people planning a trip west of Edmonton ask the same three things:

The answers are spread across several pages and do not always agree. This guide puts them in one place, in plain order: distance first, then turns, then what is at the end of the road.

The host community

River Cree sits on the land of Enoch Cree Nation, maskêkosihk, which the Nation translates as "people of the land of medicine". The Nation describes itself as 20 square miles just west of, and adjacent to, the City of Edmonton, on Highway 60. It entered into Treaty on September 25, 1877, and is a member of the Confederacy of Treaty Six.

The Nation's own account is at enochnation.ca. Visitors are guests on that land.

What the guide does not do

  • It takes no bets and holds no accounts.
  • It does not rate or rank casinos.
  • It does not publish bonuses, promotions or jackpot figures.
  • It does not fill gaps from memory. When a source is missing or sources disagree, the page says so and points to the venue.

How the site is paid for is set out on paid links. What it collects about readers is on privacy.

A note on the way back

Gambling in Alberta is for adults 18 and over. If the trip stops feeling like a night out, there are people to talk to. Call or text 211, or call the Addiction Helpline (Recovery Alberta) at 1-866-332-2322, 24 hours a day. More on help and limits.
