Checking the map

Where the facts come from

Every stop on this guide rests on a published source. This page lists those sources, explains what happens when they disagree, and notes how hours and distances are shown.

Official sources come first

The guide starts with what venues and public bodies publish themselves. In order of trust:

  • River Cree Resort & Casino's own site, rivercreeresort.com, for hours, games, dining, shows and the West Edmonton Mall shuttle.
  • Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis, at aglc.ca, for age rules, casino rules and the regulated online market.
  • The Alberta iGaming Corporation, at abigaming.ca, for its directory of registered online gaming sites.
  • The City of Edmonton, for Edmonton Transit route information, such as the route 916 schedule.
  • Enoch Cree Nation's own pages for facts about the Nation.

News reports fill in dated events, such as construction milestones. Listing and booking sites are not treated as a source of numbers. If a figure only appears there, the guide leaves it out or describes it without the number.

When sources disagree

Sometimes two official pages give different figures. River Cree's site, for example, gives more than one table-game total and more than one poker-table count.

The guide does not pick one. It leaves the number out, or it says the venue publishes it and points to the official page. A guess on a map is worse than a blank.

Items that could not be confirmed, such as a dress code or holiday hours, are not stated as fact.

Hours and the open sign

Hours on this guide are the hours the venue publishes. They are not observed. Venues change hours without notice, especially on holidays.

The open or closed status on the start page is calculated from those published hours in Mountain time, the local time in Enoch and Edmonton. It is a convenience, not a confirmation. Before a long drive, check the venue's own site.

Distances

Distances on this guide are straight-line, measured point to point. The road is always longer. For turns and driving routes, see the drive from Edmonton and without a car.

What the guide does not do

The guide does not claim visits, phone calls or interviews. Nothing here is based on a walk through the casino floor. It is built from published material only.

Facts were last checked in October 2026. Anything that changes after that date may not be reflected yet.

The guide takes no bets and has no accounts. How it is funded is set out on paid links. Who writes it is on about this guide.
