Where this stop sits from Enoch

The address is 7055 Argyll Rd NW, Edmonton. From Enoch centre it is 17.2 km in a straight line, to the east. The road distance depends on the route, so this guide gives no drive time.

The trip starts at River Cree Resort & Casino on the city's western edge. This stop is on the far side of Edmonton. The other stops on the road out are listed on Casinos along the way.

The casino runs under the Pure Canadian Gaming brand. Since 2024 the company has been owned by Indigenous Gaming Partners. That is a partnership of five Nova Scotia Mi'kmaq First Nations with Sonco Gaming. The building has been owned by VICI Properties since 2023 and is leased back.

Hours and what is on the floor

The casino publishes these hours:

  • Slots and poker: open 24 hours
  • Table games: daily, 10 am to 3 am
  • VLTs: daily, 9 am to 4 am

River Cree also runs slots 24 hours. Its table games run daily from 11 am to 3 am.

The casino describes a 72,000 sq ft floor with over 800 slot machines and 28 VLTs. Its pages give different totals for live table games, so this guide leaves that number out. The games include blackjack variants, craps, roulette, baccarat, Face Up Pai Gow, Four Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold'em and Three Card Poker. There is also a high-limit room with private baccarat.

The poker room has 12 tables and is open 24 hours. It runs limit, no-limit and tournament play in Texas Hold'em and Omaha. River Cree has a poker room too. Its table count differs between its own pages.

There are two player programs, Winner's Edge and PURE Rewards. Winner's Edge works at casinos across Alberta, and River Cree promotes it alongside its own Players Club.

The way in, with or without a car

By car. Head for 7055 Argyll Rd NW. This guide has no confirmed parking details for this stop. Call the casino at (780) 463-9467 to check. At River Cree, self and valet parking are free.

By LRT and bus. Two Valley Line stations are about 1.2 to 1.3 km from the casino in a straight line: Avonmore stop and Davies station. From Davies, ETS route 504 runs toward Meadows. It stops at 71 Street & 72 Avenue, about 300 to 350 m from the building, roughly a five-minute walk.

  • On weekdays, buses leave Davies from 5:30 am. They run every 30 minutes at peak times and hourly midday. The last trip leaves at 9:17 pm.
  • On weekends, buses run hourly. On Saturday they run from about 7:40 am to 7:40 pm, and on Sunday until about 6:40 pm.
  • Valley Line trains at Davies run until about 1:10 to 1:30 am, Monday to Saturday, and until about 12:50 am on Sunday.

There is no late-night bus. Slots and poker stay open 24 hours, so plan the way back. ETS lists an On Demand Transit stop at 75 Street & Argyll Road. You book it through the app, edmonton.ca/OnDemandTransit or 780-496-2400. The zone and hours for that stop are not confirmed. The casino pages that were checked mention no shuttle. River Cree runs a free shuttle from West Edmonton Mall. More on this is on Without a car.

What visitors tend to bring up

Food comes up often, mostly in a good light. Visitors mention the daily specials, breakfast and the pizza. One felt the food slipped after the renovation.

Servers, slot attendants and dealers are often thanked by name. Complaints tend to be about management, security or policy decisions, not the floor staff.

Temperature gets mentioned both ways. Some found the poker room too warm, and others found the floor cold.

Most see the renovation as an improvement in looks. A few long-time players reported machine problems right after the 2020 reopening.

Before you set out

The hours above are the ones the casino publishes. No holiday hours are listed, so check the casino's official site or call ahead.
